Things you will need:
- Cotton face pads- Glass measuring cup
- 8oz mason jar
- ½ cup of witch hazel
- 1 ½ cup of water
- 1 tablespoon of Vitamin E Oil
- 20 to 30 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
One common skincare product that does wonder to the skin is the facial toner. It unclogs pores by removing oil and traces of dirt, thus giving healthy skin. Toners can also shrink pores and act like a moisturizer. Regular use of toner results in having clear, beautiful skin. This liquid solution is applied to the face using a cotton ball. A more convenient way to apply this is using facial toner pads.
There are many brands of facial toner pads that you can buy but it is always a good idea to make your own. Why? Because you are sure about the ingredients. You can use all-natural ingredients and essential oils! It’s actually very easy to make homemade facial toner pads.
The things that you will need are already listed above. Let’s talk a bit about the ingredients. Witch hazel is a plant with powerful medicinal properties. The extract from this plant comes in a clear liquid form that is sold commercially as witch hazel. It can be bought in local drugstores. Witch hazel can be used in many ways but it is more common for skincare. It is better to choose an alcohol-free brand of witch hazel.
Vitamin E oil is also a popular ingredient in many skin care products. It is widely known for its anti-aging benefits because it contains antioxidants. Vitamin E oil can be applied directly to the skin or added to skincare products like lotions and creams. Another form of Vitamin E oil comes in capsule form as a supplement.

Essential oil of lavender has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that are very beneficial to the skin. It can kill bacteria and prevent acne breakouts. It is also good for cleansing and lessening redness and irritation. Lavender essential oil also contains antioxidants that help reduce the signs of aging. Many skincare products contain lavender essential oil because of its beautiful fragrance and healing benefits. Lavender essential oil can also be used with a diffuser. This reduces stress and creates a positive mood which also benefits the skin.
Now that we are familiar with the ingredients, let’s make our homemade facial toner pads using lavender essential oil.
Step 1: Fill the glass measuring cup with 1 ½ cups of water.
Step 2: Add ½ cup of witch hazel.
Step 3: Add one tablespoon of Vitamin E Oil.
Step 4: Add 20 to 30 drops of Lavender Essential Oil.
Step 5: Fill the mason jar halfway with dry cotton pads.
Step 6: Pour in the toner solution until it just covers and completely saturates the cotton pads.
Step 7: Fill the rest of the jar with more dry cotton pads and push down until they are all soaked.
Step 8: Close the jar and keep it in your bedroom or in your bathroom until you are ready to use the facial toner pads.
How to use: Simply get one and wipe your skin with the pad after cleansing or when your face feels too oily. A good facial toner pad should not be too dry nor dripping wet.
