Have you ever cleaned your makeup brushes?
Most probably, you have never cleaned your makeup brushes. It’s either you don’t know how or you don’t know that you have to. You should know that cleaning your makeup brushes is very important. Here are the reasons why:
Cleaning your makeup brushes is hygienic.
You probably don’t notice it but makeup residues actually build up on your brushes. Your makeup brushes also touch many surfaces like your bag, tabletops, beauty products, thus encountering bacteria. Your brushes become dirty and they simply bring pore-clogging bacteria around your face, mixing them with the bacteria already present on your face because of oil and sweat. This results in skin irritations or nasty bacterial breakouts and infections. Obviously, cleaning your makeup brushes is as important as cleaning your face.
Cleaning your makeup brushes is good for the color of cosmetics.
You use your makeup brushes in different colors all the time. If you don’t clean them, the color residues will build up and form caked up colors on the bristles. This will distort or change the color and appearance of the makeup you are applying to your skin.
Cleaning your makeup brushes promotes smooth and even application.
When you use a dirty brush, your makeup will look streaky and inconsistent. Some parts of your face will have thick makeup while the other parts are thin. This inconsistency is because of the dried clumps that form on the bristles when you don’t wash them. If you clean and wash your brushes, you will have good, smooth and even application of makeup on your face.
Cleaning your makeup brushes keeps them soft.
When makeup dries up and cakes on brushes, the bristles will become tough, hard and scratchy. Your makeup will look streaky with this kind of brush. The worse part is your skin might get irritated and have red marks and surface scratches. If you regularly clean your brushes, there will be no residues and the bristles will be soft and safe for your skin.
Cleaning your makeup brushes saves money.
Makeup brushes aren’t cheap. Take care of your makeup brushes by cleaning and washing them regularly. With proper maintenance, your makeup brushes will last longer so you don’t have to keep buying new ones. You can save money.
