There are many beauty products that help us take care of our skin. People buy cleansers, moisturizers, toners, and creams to keep the skin healthy and young-looking. Another skincare product that is popular now is the facial serum.
A facial serum is a lightweight moisturizer that can penetrate deeper into the skin because of its smaller molecules. Serums are designed to effectively deliver a very high concentration of active ingredients into the skin. Serums have ingredients that help retain moisture but they are not traditional moisturizers. Serums are ideally used to target specific skin issues like wrinkles. A facial serum is applied to the skin after cleansing but before moisturizing. Regular use of serums can help skin become firm and smooth for a fresher, younger and healthier appearance.
Most facial serums are expensive because they tend to contain higher quality and more concentrated ingredients. The good thing is that you can actually create your own facial serum using essential oils. Essential oils are powerful ingredients from nature that have many benefits to the skin.
Frankincense essential oil regenerates skin cells and reduces those dreaded fine lines and wrinkles that come with aging. Its astringent properties tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of pores. Aside from its anti-aging benefits, frankincense oil is great for removing stretch marks and scars. Frankincense oil is also used to soothe the skin and to prevent acne breakouts because of its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
Lavender essential oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that are very beneficial to the skin. It can kill bacteria and prevent acne breakouts. It is also good for cleansing and lessening redness and irritation. Lavender essential oil also contains antioxidants that help reduce the signs of aging. Many skincare products contain lavender essential oil because of its beautiful fragrance and healing benefits.
Tea tree essential oil is the most well-known acne-fighting oil because of its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It can reduce redness, swelling, itch, and irritation not only the face but in other affected areas of the skin as well. Tree tea oil can also fight oily skin because of its antiseptic properties. It is also an effective wound healer because of its antibacterial properties.
